NQRNews for 14 Mar: Congress gets 21%(?). What did you get?

Dear NQRNews Readers,

While we were practicing daylight savings time, some people may have missed the fact that the US congress voted THEMSELVES a 21% pay raise! Did you vote for that? From a representative:

Hoyer, Jeffries Applaud 21% Boost to MRA Funds in the Omnibus Allowing for Increases to House Staff Pay | The Office of Majority Leader Steny Hoyer

I don’t care for the reasons. Reps and their staff members get a 21% raise and the rest of the country is dealing with nearly 21% inflation! (They say 8%, but old school – 80s, would have the rate at about 16%!). OK, I’m exaggerating on the 21%. But I don’t know of any business where the employee’s can ‘vote’ themselves a 21% pay raise for themselves and their staff members.

We are seeing electricity, utilities, food and especially gas prices soar. Nobody I know is getting a raise to match what is happening around the globe when it comes to inflation. This isn’t going to get better unless we get different people in congress.

Remember this in NOV.

Uncle Mike
