Dear www.notquiterightnews.com readers,
The US military is being subjected to seismic shifts, not driven by external forces, but internal politics that are creating turmoil. Between forced vaccinations of the troops, the realization that a less than organized group of goat herders defeated the ‘supposed’ number 1 military in the world (in less than 30 days), and a military leadership drawing questions from the ranks and has demonstrated they are more focused on cultural ‘wokeness’ than being able to fight and win wars, the Department of Defense should be reeling. But they aren’t. It is ‘business’ as usual underneath the ‘woke cloak’. If the leadership can keep stories like this out of the headlines:
Chances are the US military can continue to be competent to fight if required. Based on the article, our UK brethren understand what is happening to the US military and they “get it”.
While the General Officers in the Army complain about grooming standards, a video from North Korea was dropped showing their troops breaking bricks with their heads:
North Korea soldiers smash bricks in combat display – BBC News – YouTube
Fairly certain it would be difficult to get US troops out in the sun breaking bricks with a hammer, much less their heads.
After the failure in Afghanistan, the US Army has found a convenient scape goat. That would be the information environment that was exploited admirably by the Taliban. The Army is using a full court press to show how they will address the next information conflict.
Here is an article (SEP 9th) that explains the US Army’s new buzz; “Information Advantage”:
US Army works through what ‘information advantage’ is and how to achieve it (c4isrnet.com)
The information environment, as defined in the article is “a vast sphere that includes information, psychological and influence operations across cyberspace, the electromagnetic spectrum and space.” You remember what was happening on 9 Sep 21? The US military, the Pentagon, the US Space Forces and the Department of State got their collective butts handed to them by an inferior force that used a tried-and-true military message. They killed their enemies, they destroyed anyone that got in their way, and they told them in plain language, we will kill you if you don’t quit. Then, I’ll be damned if they didn’t do it. The entire US Government and Military with a $2Trillion (give or take a few hundred million) annual budget was routed by a hundred thousand guys with Toyota pickups and a bloodlust.
The answer the Pentagon is pushing? Change the term Information Operations or Information warfare (small w) to “Information Advantage”. Yeah. Put lipstick on that pig. Unless you’re not going to buy one F-35 (Over $100million for one? How much “Information Advantage” can you buy for that?) and use that money to fund Information Warfare, it won’t matter.
The military Public Affairs office writers shared more information by trying to re-package what they are doing. C4ISRNET wrote an article that tries to indicate the Army has a “tool” for the new doctrine, ‘Information Advantage’:
The next tool the Army needs for information advantage (c4isrnet.com)
I didn’t catch anything in the article indicating a “tool”. I read new words for the same doctrine with tactical ‘cyber’ sprinkled on top. Perhaps our troops spend more time entering ammo into rifles than hitting the ‘enter’ key on keyboards?
The US military doesn’t have the will to listen to GO’s orders when they see complaints about manicures. The force knows the troubles under the “woke cloak” and would be willing to run through a brick wall for the country. But not with the leaders they see today. There must be a will to actually kill the enemy in order for your information campaign to mean something.
Dear Pentagon Staff, please stop writing bullet comments on powerpoint slides for Pentagon personnel to nod approvingly over “Information Advantage” bumper sticker. It’s the military version of “build back better”. The troops, marines, sailors and airmen know more than any Pentagon power-point briefing can hope to explain. They understand the MLK jodies, the GO’s with manicure issues, and they sure as hell understand the current ‘information DISadvantage’.
